ASR Microelectronics' First RedCap Smart Wearable Chip Platform ASR3901 Successfully Passes China Mobile Certification

Recently, ASR Microelectronics' first RedCap smart wearable chip platform, ASR3901, successfully passed China Mobile's chip certification test. This achievement marks another milestone in ASR Microelectronics' expanding RedCap product lineup and reinforces its commitment to driving the commercialization of RedCap technology.


During the two-week initial testing phase, ASR3901 successfully completed all test items with outstanding performance. The China Mobile chip certification process includes rigorous assessments covering RedCap protocol conformance, RF conformance, wireless resource management, network interoperability (NS-IOT and NV-IOT), and IPv6 compliance. These tests comprehensively validate ASR3901’s communication stability, bandwidth adaptability, protocol support, and wireless resource management capabilities in the 5G RedCap environment. The results confirm that ASR3901 fully meets the stringent requirements of 5G RedCap networks, making it highly suitable for smart wearable applications while accelerating the large-scale adoption and commercialization of RedCap technology.


ASR3901 is a cost-effective 5G RedCap system-on-chip (SoC) designed specifically for smart wearable devices. Fully compliant with the 3GPP 5G R17 standard, the chip delivers superior performance and flexibility, serving as a key enabler for the next generation of smart wearables.


Supporting both NR and LTE networks, ASR3901 covers a wide frequency range from 450 MHz to 6 GHz and supports 5G SA (Standalone) mode, ensuring excellent mobile communication capabilities. Its single-chip architecture integrates a multi-mode baseband, RF module, audio codec, and embedded LPDDR memory.
